The artwork started on the Ideas of James YouTube channel to help illustrate the points raised in the episodes. As the art style developed, people responded to both the drawings and the commentary on life with demand to see more.
Each piece is hand-drawn digitally, then available as posters, greeting cards and other prints. Some select pieces get recreated and hand painted onto canvas in acrylic. These capture all the brushstrokes, texture and happy accidents that only exist in physical form making them all unique.
Most pieces feature a purple character who often portrays a relatable perspective on life often with a comedic twist.
The apparent simplicity can be deceiving and many drawings feature subtle details and character motivation that are often more apparent after repeated viewing
